Cedar Waxwing (Juveniles and a Silhouette)

This afternoon in the top of a pine tree I saw a bird perched against the sun.  The shape of her side profile and her whistle was enough for me to identify her as a Waxwing.  The sun was very bright behind her so I thought ‘hey, why not just shoot it as a silhouette?’  I was very happy with how she turned out and so I’m using it as my clean and simple blog header photo. :)

I also saw my first juvenile Cedar Waxwing in my cherry tree having breakfast, boy are they ever interesting looking, not quite as regal as their parents yet… haha!
